How much do you charge?

That’s always the hardest question. It’s like asking how much it costs to get your car fixed – upfront. It depends on the job but I can tell you that I’m 20-30% cheaper than a big city copywriter. That’s because I live in regional Queensland and my overheads are lower.

Do you need a deposit?

Yes, usually 50%. Any job under $300 needs to be paid in full, up front. You can find my terms and conditions through the link at the bottom of the page.

How does the process work?

It varies per job, but here’s a rule of thumb. We have a chat about scope and I put a quote together. If you accept, I require a deposit. Then we go through a structured interview process and discuss your audience, benefits, tone and other considerations. I get to work. I send you a draft. You give me feedback. Two rounds of revisions are included – I want to be sure that you’re happy!

Will you write my grant for free?

I am often asked this one (yes, really…) Or, ‘can I pay you if I win?’ The answer is no – not every grant will win and there may be behind-the-scenes factors that you and I know nothing about. I do some grant work for free, but those are for non-profits that I’ve chosen (and I’m not looking for any more, sorry).

Do you do workshops or training?

Yes – I love doing them. I’m a trained IAP2 facilitator (International Association for Public Participation) with a long history in community engagement. I can deliver training in a range of topics, from blogging to better business writing to presentation techniques to….why not give me a call?
